The 18-hole course was built by the American army after a forest fire on an old tank training area. This golf course is one of the oldest courses in Baden-Württemberg and was designed by Bernhard von Limburger, a German golf course architect and former pioneer of golf in Germany.
The somewhat hilly terrain, criss-crossed by centuries-old sand dunes, is enclosed by dense pine forest to the south and west. In the east, the view extends over the fields to Heidelberg and the Odenwald. The old tree population gives the Par 71 golf course a unique atmosphere and allows a pleasant game even in hot weather. There are no water obstacles, but bunkers defend the difficult greens. Due to the very attractive scenic location as well as the soil conditions (sandy soil), the golf course is one of the most popular courses in Germany that can be played all year round.
